Who doesn't love a pencil skirt? This revolutionary garment that came to women's wardrobes in the 1960's has become a staple of any woman's collection.
Creating your very own pencil skirt is a great project for getting started with using your sewing machine and following a commercial sewing pattern. You'll have fun learning the basics while making a garment you'll be able to wear to work, out on the town, or chilling at home (as the case may be!).
This class is beginner friendly and will cover the basics of setting up your sewing machine and learning the foundations of sewing and garment construction. In the first class, we'll cover sewing machine use. From there, we'll move on to an overview of fabric, body measurements, cutting your pattern pieces and fabric, and finally constructing your garment! We'll get into inserting a zipper, alterations, and different hem options. Whether you're a total beginner, want to get started with creating your own clothing, or just need to brush up on your skills, you're sure to get something valuable out of this class--as well as something new and cute to wear!
